Hammocks hanging in the cove pines 🌲

Maine with my sister, May 2025. 🌲19 hours on the road, a travel journal full of all the places we stopped, and “So Lonely” by The Police playing on repeat. We caught the 6:45 ferry out of Bass Harbor to Swans Island and spent a couple of days in a little cabin right on the water.

Pretty sure we mostly slept when we first got there. The rest of our time was spent driving around the island, hanging hammocks in the cove pines, keeping the wood stove going, and cooking. Salmon burgers and mashed potatoes for dinner, shrimp omelets for breakfast.
