Lisa A Baker Showing was held at Bonus Pints in Logansport, Indiana on Saturday February 25th from 4:00PM to 7:00PM. Lisa's pieces were showcased in a private room on the Bonus Level near The Lantern, owned and operated by Brett Manning Art.
Lisa Baker was born and raised in Logansport, Indiana. As a self taught artist, Lisa didn’t have the opportunity to go to art school but always loved art and drew as a child. Her fifth grade art teacher told her she had talent, leaving a lasting impression.
Her style consists of abstract shapes and shadows that all stem from her imagination. Lisa has a love for charcoal pencils but also uses colored and oil pastel pencils as well as acrylic paint and other mixed mediums. She’s inspired by the variety of design elements, patterns, and colors to work with. Lisa’s favorite artist is Georgia O’Keeffe because of her love for O’Keeffe’s abstracts.
In 2019 Lisa had a solo art show at Black Dog Coffee Shop in Logansport titled "Heart Series". There were forty artworks of anatomical hearts to honor her mother who passed away in 2018 of Alzheimer's.
Lisa loves to learn new things about art and meet other artists. She has taken classes from Melodie Dowell for Zendoodle and Erica Coffing for celebrity portraits.
“For me, art has been my personal therapist. It has been a way to express my emotions good or bad and work through them and feel better. I hope when people see my art it speaks to them on some emotional level. “
