About the event
Art moves us. It takes us into other world’s, other people’s lives. Art conveys things in a way that science doesn’t. It heals, transforms, shows, tells, asks and demands.
We believe that art - in whatever form it takes - can change conversations and rebuild the broken bridges between those struggling with recovery, and the communities they might feel alienated from.
Stigma kills. It alienates, frightens, dehumanizes and punishes. Stigma drives people deeper into substance abuse. Stigma stops people from seeking mental health care. Stigma contributes to the problem, and is an obstacle to recovery.
